Acapulco

Acapulco - is one of the leading Mexican tourist resorts on what is known as the ‘Mexican Riviera’.  This city is also a major sea port for shipping and cruising lines running between United States’ San Francisco and Panama.  Acapulco is located on a deep, horse-shoe shaped bay, in the state of Guerrero on the Pacific coast of Mexico, 300 km (190 miles) southwest from Mexico City. It attracts many visitors to its beaches, luxury hotels, and casinos, also well known for its’ deep-sea fishing and parasailing.  Exports include coffee, cotton, sesame seeds, sugar cane, tabacco, and tropical fruit.  The tourist resort city of Acapulco is the largest city in the state, much larger than the state capital Chilpancingo.  In the 2005 Census, the population of the urbanized area was 616,394, while that of the administrative municipality was 717,766 people.
