Making the JUMP!

Bungee jumping is certainly one of those extreme sports that polarizes its audience into two well defined camps: those who are dying to give it a go (even while acting a tad shy at the idea of jumping) and those who have no idea how on Earth does people find this sport appealing. This is a shame since bungee jumping is not only one of the most adrenaline pumping sports of our days but it's also quite easy to do. Most of us go through a point in our lives where the curiosity (or even heartfelt need) of an experience that makes our blood rush and our heart skip; bungee jumping might be the thing for you if you want to get your fix without investing hours upon hours of practice time.

Prepare for some exciting activity days

Bungee jumping is not particularly hard to describe; this is a sport that requires you to jump from an elevated place while you are connected to a special rope. This rope works like a spring: when you jump and start falling down the rope will first stretch and then retract as soon as you reach the tipping point bringing you upwards. Divers love the adrenaline rush that comes from free falling before behing dragged into the air by the saving cord and many wish they could be doing this activity days at a time.

Of course, while the sport is accessible, it is seldom the mere process of waking up with the desire to jump and proceeding to have your first diving experience before lunch. As with any other extreme sport, a bit of research is heartily recommended. There are many websites with a wealth of information for would be divers and websites like Youtube can let you take a look at some videos of what the jumps actually look like. I would personally recommend you to also try to find blogs with personal experiences and records of first time jumpers or (even better) talk to someone who has done it in the past.

If you are still interested, then the next step is to locate a bungee jumping company that works in your area (you certainly don't want to be driving days to your first jump.) Take your time with this step and pay a visit to a few if you can as you will want to feel comfortable with the people that you'll be working with. As always, internet forums serve as a great place to find reputable sites through word of mouth.
